Bayesian model-based spatial clustering methods are widely used for their flexibility in estimating latent clusters with an unknown number of clusters while accounting for spatial proximity. Many existing methods are designed for clustering finite spatial units, limiting their ability to make predictions or may impose restrictive geometric constraints on the shapes of subregions. Furthermore, the posterior clustering consistency theory of spatial clustering models remains largely unexplored in the literature. In this study, we propose a Spatial Domain Random Partition Model (Spat-RPM) and demonstrate its application for spatially clustered regression, which extends spanning tree-based Bayesian spatial clustering by partitioning the spatial domain into disjoint blocks and using spanning tree cuts to induce contiguous domain partitions. Under an infill-domain asymptotic framework, we introduce a new distance metric to study the posterior concentration of domain partitions. We show that Spat-RPM achieves a consistent estimation of domain partitions, including the number of clusters (which may go to infinity), and derive posterior concentration rates for partition, parameter and prediction. We also establish conditions on the hyperparameters to achieve consistency, offering important practical guidance for hyperparameter selection. Finally, we examine the asymptotic properties of our model through simulation studies and apply it to Atlantic Ocean data.
RBF 核高斯过程最大似然估计的精确渐近理论
Gaussian processes (GPs) are widely used across machine learning, spatial statistics, time-series analysis, optimization, Bayesian statistics, and scientific applications. A central component of a GP model is its kernel, which is typically specified through a parametric family. Among the most widely used choices is the radial basis function (RBF), also known as the squared exponential or Gaussian kernel, owing to its simple form, smoothness, and flexibility. In practice, the…

With the advance of measurement technologies and increasing computing power, large spatial data with heterogeneous structures are often collected over high-dimensional domains. Existing Gaussian process (GP) models and computational strategies are often inadequate for analyzing such datasets in multi-dimensional domains. To address these challenges, we develop a Bayesian residual tree GP methodology called ResTGP for large spatial data with potentially heterogeneous…

Estimating covariate-conditional treatment effects in multi-arm oncology studies is complicated when treatment arms have common distributional features and a non-negligible fraction of patients achieve long-term remission. We propose a joint mixture cure model with covariate-dependent mixtures of log-normal kernels with treatment-specific inclusions. Both linear and neural-network-assisted non-linear covariate links are proposed. Specifically, the susceptible survival…
图分割贝叶斯因果森林:空间异质性处理效应估计
In spatial observational studies, treatment assignment and outcomes often exhibit spatial dependence patterns, and treatment effects may vary across space and subpopulations due to both measured and unmeasured spatially structured confounders. Accounting for spatial dependence while estimating heterogeneous treatment effects (HTEs) is a central task in spatial causal inference. Causal Bayesian additive regression tree methods are popular nonparametric methods for modeling…

Spatial transcriptomics measures gene expression alongside the spatial coordinates of each capture spot or cell across tissue samples. The detection of spatially variable (SV) genes, whose expression exhibits systematic spatial variation, enables the delineation of functional tissue domains and the identification of region-specific transcriptional changes that underlie disease heterogeneity. However, empirical evidence from spatial transcriptomics data indicates that…
超越单调性的异质幸存者平均因果效应:机械通气临床试验应用
Clinical trials in critical care often evaluate outcomes that are truncated by death, such as time to discharge alive, for which treatment effects are not well defined among patients who would not survive under one or both treatment strategies. Principal stratification provides a natural framework for defining survivor causal effects, but existing approaches often rely on monotonicity assumptions that may be implausible in settings where treatment can affect survival in…
