conditional mean of an economic time series is linear in past values. Two specific tests are discussed, the Cramer-von Mises and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests. The particular feature of the proposed tests is that the bootstrap is used to estimate the nonstandard asymptotic distributions of the test statistics considered. The tests are justified theoretically by asymptotics, and their finite-sample behaviors are studied by means of Monte Carlo experiments. The tests are applied to five U.S. monthly series, and evidence of nonlinearity is found for the first difference of the logarithm of the personal income and for the first difference of the unemployment rate. No evidence of nonlinearity is found for the first difference of the logarithm of the U.S. dollar/Japanese Yen exchange rate, for the first difference of the 3-month T-bill interest rate and for the first difference of the logarithm of the M2 money stock. Contrary to typically used tests, the proposed testing procedures are robust to the presence of conditional heteroscedasticity. This may explain the results for the exchange rate and the interest rate.
检测Copula结构变化的平滑检验方法
This paper develops novel smooth tests for structural changes in the innovation copula of multivariate dynamic models. We characterize deviations from copula constancy through a collection of generalized Fourier coefficients and test their joint significance. Under the null hypothesis, estimation of the dynamic parameters and the unknown marginals has no first-order estimation effect on the proposed statistics. Consequently, the feasible tests based on estimated residuals…
矩阵自回归模型的脉冲响应推断
Matrix autoregressive (MAR) models offer a parsimonious framework for modeling matrix-valued time series, yet tools for estimation and inference for their impulse response functions are lacking. We develop asymptotic and bootstrap-based inference for impulse responses of stable MAR($p$) models. We derive the joint asymptotic distribution of the coefficient and covariance estimators, which permits closed-form delta-method standard errors. To address finite-sample bias, we…

This paper develops a general two-point dependent wild bootstrap (DWB) for weakly dependent estimating equations. Its key feature is that the two-point marginal distribution and the latent serial dependence specification can be chosen separately. The construction combines a normalized two-point distribution with a stationary latent Gaussian process via a Gaussian copula transformation, includes dependent Rademacher and Mammen multipliers, and nests the classical iid…
高维时间序列的模型无关降噪
We develop a model-agnostic framework for noise reduction in high-dimensional time series that explicitly targets optimal recovery of a low-dimensional latent dynamic component contaminated by observational white noise. Under the assumption that the latent dynamics live in a low-dimensional linear dynamic subspace, we characterize the optimal linear projection onto the dynamic subspace and provide a geometric description of the residual error in terms of the relative…
通过条件中心化进行非线性 Granger 因果的 RKHS 推断
Granger causality is commonly formulated through linear prediction in vector autoregressive models, limiting its ability to detect nonlinear predictive relationships. We propose a reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS)-based test for nonlinear Granger non-causality in conditional mean for nonlinear autoregressive processes. The key idea is a conditional-centering decomposition of the target regression function into an own-history component and an orthogonal component…

This work presents DPQBootstrap, a probabilistic resampling method for time series based on a Dirichlet quantile bootstrap and rank-based temporal reconstruction. The method aims to generate pseudo-series that preserve the main characteristics of the original series, including variability, quantiles, extreme values, and part of its temporal dependence. A simulation study compares DPQBootstrap with the Maximum Entropy Bootstrap implemented in the meboot package across eight…
