The common observation made in the empirical nonlinear dynamics literature is the constraints imposed by the availability of a limited number of observations in the implementation of the existing algorithms of Lyapunov exponents. The algorithm discussed here can estimate all "n" Lyapunov exponents of an unknown "n"-dimensional dynamical system accurately with limited number of observations. This makes the algorithm attractive for applications to economic as well as financial time-series data. The implementation of the algorithm is carried out by multilayer feed forward networks which are capable of approximating any function and its derivatives to any degree of accuracy. 对象值时间序列中的长程依赖度量
Object-valued time series, including distributions, covariance matrices, networks, and compositions, lack the linear structure required by conventional autocovariance-based definitions of long memory. We develop an intrinsic framework for defining and estimating long memory in metric spaces of negative type. An isometric embedding yields a centered Hilbert-valued process, and the trace of its lag-covariance operator provides a signed, additive measure of temporal dependence.…
高维矩阵值时间序列的时空自回归模型
Motivated by predicting intraday trading volume curves, we consider two spatio-temporal autoregressive models for matrix time series, in which each column may represent daily trading volume curve of one asset, and each row captures synchronized 5-minute volume intervals acrossmultiple assets. While traditional matrix time series focus mainly on temporal evolution, our approach incorporates both spatial and temporal dynamics, enabling simultaneous analysis of interactions…

We propose the Edge-Grouped Reduced-Rank Network Autoregressive model (Edge-Grouped RRNAR) for multivariate time series observed over a network. The model allows transmission effects to vary across prespecified and economically interpretable groups of edges, while using a low-rank structure to capture cross-variable dynamics. This structure separates where network transmission occurs from which variables transmit and respond. We develop a topology-aware and block-specific…

Non-Euclidean object-valued time series are playing a growing role in modern data analysis, and periodicity is a fundamental characteristic of many time series. However, quantifying periodicity in general non-Euclidean random objects remains largely unexplored. In this work, we introduce a novel nonparametric framework for quantifying periodicity in random objects within a general metric space that lacks Euclidean structure. Our approach formulates periodicity estimation as…
用 BAND 缓解维度灾难:高维非参数分布估计
Minimax-optimal rates for multivariate distribution estimation are known to suffer from the curse of dimensionality. We propose a sparse Bayesian network approach in which each conditional probability is estimated using sparsity-aware conditional mean methods. The resulting estimator, \textit{BAyesian Network Distribution regression} (BAND), handles mixed data types in high-dimensional time series and achieves polynomial total variation convergence rates while allowing the…
涌现的传播复杂性:区分机制复杂性与相关异质性
Simple and complex contagions differ mechanistically; multiple exposures act synergistically in the latter but independently in the former. Yet correlated mixtures of simple contagions may appear complex when inferring global contagion rules, a phenomenon we call "emergent complexity." We present a measure of contagion complexity and an inferential framework for estimating mixtures of nonparametric contagion rules from time-series data. Our work reframes past studies on…
